{ Success Story: Grow B2B }

Backend data integration delivers private wholesale pricing, special invoicing, quotes, and store locator.

PSG Success Story: Paul Oxman Publishing Jacks asked Phoenix Systems Group to help them meet their growing B2B needs.

While Jacks Manufacturing had a healthy retailer customer base grown out of its roots as wholesale cataloger, it did not have a functional online store. The 40-plus-year-old B2B company had an established online presence since the late 1990s, but its previous website lacked eCommerce basics such as add-to-cart, shopping cart, checkout, customer portal and dynamic departments. Everything was manual for Jacks — and its customers; Nothing was automated.

Business owners knew it was time to leverage both internal efficiencies and customer conveniences that could be achieved by moving to a modern eCommerce platform. An added bonus with the new website included a Store Locator tool where retail consumers could search and map local distributors.

Bringing B2B experience to the table, PSG delivered a modern website design that includes an administrative panel offering custom reports, smart content management features, and flexible tools for quickly merchandising both regular and dynamic departments. In addition, the self-service portal provided Jacks with the ability to improve customer service with account management access, order history details, express reorder, dealer pricing, and more.

Content management is a breeze for Jacks marketing team, demonstrated by the regular updates in the main splash slider and dynamic product ads.

The marketing team features a dynamic set of products, revealing pricing only to logged in dealers. In addition, the wholesaler can control what links in the footer display for the B2C (public) shopper vs the B2B (logged in dealer).

By integrating Jacks' enterprise resource planning (ERP) system with its eCommerce site, the wholesaler gained the ability to display customer specific order information, services (i.e. product configurator, saved items list, email signup) and pricing and payment options based on customer sign in. Before the redesign, the backend data was separate and, without user authentication, the website offerings were vanilla. Now B2B shoppers enjoy a more robust, customer-centric shopping experience like they do on their favorite personal shopping sites.
